Borje Salming led until 1992-93 when Eric Lindros took over for 8 years before Brian Leetch, who had a cup of coffee with the Leafs, took over for four season. True Blue Mats Sundin was then firmly entrenched on top but Joe Thornton took over in 2017, never looking back.
