Russian National Midget Team

On December 26-30, the Russian Midget (Under 18 year-old) team will take part in the 22nd international tournament held in Bern. Andrei Pyatanov, the head coach of the team, is well-known as a defenseman for Khimik Voskresensk and the famed Dynamo Moscow in the '80s. He invited 25 players for a tryout in Electrostal near Moscow. On the final roster there must be 22 players. Here is the list of candidates for the Russian Midget team who were called up for a tryout. The names of those who most probably will not take part in the tournament are in italics. This tournament is considered as a stage in preparation for the World Championships which will be held in Switzerland on April 14-24, 2000. Among the competitors of the tournament, there will be Switzerland, Germany, Norway and the Bern Elite.
